THE TEXAS POOL

Let’s start with a historic 168,000 gallon saltwater pool shaped like the great state of Texas! Located in Plano, it’s open to the public from Memorial Day through Labor Day. It also hosts Mermaid Meetups! Yep, you read that correctly. It’s one of the only mermaid friendly pools in the DFW metroplex. A 30-acre park featuring a one-acre spring-fed lake for swimming that comes complete with two sandy beaches, shade trees and certified lifeguards. With six diving boards, a 20-foot slide, and 25-foot trapeze won’t be lacking for fun. And when you get hungry, you can grab a delicious burger at the snack bar. No alcoholic beverages or pets allowed.

This city-owned water park is known for the Green Extreme, the country’s longest uphill water roller coaster! Other features include 22 waterslides, a wave pool, wading pool, and lazy river. If you want a break from the sun, check out this 80,000 square-foot indoor waterpark in Grand Prairie. It was recently named Top Three Indoor Water Park in the Nation by USA Today!
