Years ago, when I was first starting out, I found myself facing a cold, hard truth— earning trust is a significant challenge for real estate investors! I know, surprise! Who could have seen that coming!
Now, let’s talk about trust. The skepticism wasn’t just from homeowners worried about lowball offers; it mostly stemmed from Realtors in the Fort Worth area. I knew early on that building relationships with them was crucial to our business strategy but convincing them that I could be a trusted partner was another story altogether.
That’s when I realized the importance of not just declaring your presence in the business world but also explaining the how and why behind it. I call it my commitment to our business partners, and I’d like to share it with you today. It boils down to three key principles:
SERVICE DRIVEN
Service is one of those words that gets thrown around without any real meaning behind it. In fact, I’d go as far to say that it’s a word that’s really been watered down these last few years. Let me tell you what it means to me. Service is sitting down with an industry partner – whether it’s a lender, a title company, or a brokerage – and simply having a chat to determine if we are a good match. That’s it. It’s about making sure our business goals align, that we see eye to eye on the way we do things, that we even work in the same areas. Service comes naturally when two organizations with similar cultures collaborate. Where that falls apart is when you try to seal every business deal possible without considering the quality of the fit. Not every interaction is destined to be a partnership, but that doesn’t mean you can’t shake hands, recognize potential for future collaboration, and walk away as friends.
SOLUTION DRIVEN
Now, let’s talk problem-solving. It’s pretty straight forward. Once we’ve had a chat and we’re on the same page with our goals, we focus on finding solutions.
For us, this means being a go-to resource of information and experience that Realtors can rely on. There are times when agents encounter difficult listings or challenging seller situations and aren’t sure of what steps to take. It could be a property that’s not quite market-ready or a seller facing unique circumstances that require a different approach. If you’re dealing with this, it can put you in a tough spot as an agent.
That’s where we step in as an additional resource in your toolkit, offering solutions that help navigate these challenges. Sure, we’re interested in buying the house, but Realtors and industry partners don’t call me because we can close deals quickly. They call me because we solve problems.
TRANSPARENCY
When you’re faced with a major challenge, who do you want in your corner? You have two choices: someone offering a lot of money but you’re not certain it’s completely on the level, or someone who genuinely has your best interests at heart.
It’s understandable if the allure of money catches your eye initially; everyone’s drawn to different things. Our philosophy revolves around ensuring that everyone involved feels prioritized and supported throughout the process. For our Realtors Partners, it’s about maintaining complete control of the transaction so they can navigate it smoothly and cater to their clients’ needs effectively.
One way we achieve this is by connecting everyone so we’re all in the loop – the real estate agent, the homeowner, the title company, and everyone else involved. Transparent communication is key to building trust and minimizing misunderstandings. As a Realtor, maintaining your reputation is paramount, and we’re dedicated to upholding that reputation in every deal.
WRAPPING IT UP
So, now you know why I say Realtors are our partners and we couldn’t do it without them. They’re the backbone of our success and the lessons I’ve learned about earning their trust reminds me to remain steadfast in my commitment to our three core principles: prioritizing service, providing solutions, and maintaining transparency. These values guide every interaction we have, ensuring that our partnerships are built on trust and mutual respect.
So, here’s a heartfelt thank you to our Realtor Partners—your support means everything to us. We’re grateful for the opportunity to work together, and if you’re a Realtor reading this, let’s connect over a cup of coffee. There’s so much more we can achieve when we work hand in hand.
